Child Resistant Closures with Desiccant
Moisture is one of the most damaging factors that can affect pharmaceuticals, both in drug production as well as in transit and storage.
Moisture that is retained in medication packaging or containers can cause a lot of problems, including degradation of active substances, reduction of drug potency and the development of mould and mildew.
We had a number of enquiries from different customers for some way of using the moisture absorbing desiccant to keep the medication in good condition and avoid the contents being contaminated.
We produced a number of options - one being a silica gel capsule that inserts into the bottle along with the tablets, and a silica gel capsule within the CRC cap (pictured).
Valley Northern also offers Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved silica gel, which does not contain toxic additions; such as methyl violet or cobalt dichloride - considered Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
