Posted in: FAQ's 22nd May 2018General Data Protection Regulation Update
With the new GDPR data legislation coming into effect on 25th May, we wanted to update you to assure you that your hassle-free supplier is making excellent progress to be ready for when the legislation commences.
We’re very pleased to share with you that we have achieved our Cyber Essentials certification which gives more reassurance to you, and us, that our IT systems are safe and secure.
We’ve been working on internal systems to ensure they are compliant. We’re pleased to say that the majority of our systems were found to already meet the GDPR criteria, and for the few that didn’t we’re making the small number of changes required so that we can confidently say they have been brought up to the new standards.
We’ve never sold or shared any customer information with third parties, and can happily confirm that we never intend on doing this. We also do not procure lists from third party companies. The customer base we have has been confirmed and verified on an individual basis.
We firmly believe that the information that is kindly shared with us is to be used for the purposes in which it was given. Any information we share with our customers is always relating to products and services that relate to your work environments.
We only hold data that is required for our business with you, and never hold data obtained that goes outside of this. We have stringent procedures for ensuring that any requests for full data deletion is adhered to and actioned accordingly.
Knowing that our customers have many areas of confidentiality to consider, we hope you’ll agree that Valley Northern is taking the GDPR legislation seriously, along with the safety of your data.
